I heard back in 98 or so, that this guy had the castle broken down piece by piece in wherever it was, and shipped over here; so it's an original. Not sure if the story is true, but it's pretty cool.
Yeah, I need to do some research on those castles. I did a quick google search, and got some results, but none that really explained much.... I'll look further into it at somepoint. As far as the owl goes. I going to say it works pretty well. Before the owl I would get woken up every morning at 615 or so. Now I don't hear them anymore...at least... not while I'm trying to sleep. I can still hear them if I listen while I'm awake, but they sound further away, and not right outside my window like they used to.
The one near 11th and Lamar was the original location of the Texas Military Institute pre-1900. It eventually was put out of business by A&M when they raided the faculty.
Rick, Nice to hear from you again. Whats new with you? Do you have an email or something?
I may be taking the one in November. I have not applied yet. So, I'm not sure if I can make the deadline. Not even sure when the deadline is. I have downloaded all the information, forms and stuff, but haven't looked at them to much DOH!. I should be more proactive... but I'll get around to it sooner or later.

Matt, I googled you when you popped into my head the other day. Looks like you've been keeping busy. Sitting for the PE in November?
